Safety Policy

Work2Wed connects you with people you haven't met before, sometimes with the intention of meeting in person. This page covers the tools we give you, and the precautions we ask you to take yourself.

1. Tools available to you

• Block — instantly and mutually hides your profile from a member and theirs from you, from anywhere you can see them.
• Report — available on any profile or post, sends a report to our moderation team with a reason you choose.
• Privacy controls — set each profile field to Public, Verified members, Matches, Connections, or Only me, so you control what strangers see before you've connected.
• Messaging gate — nobody can message you until you've mutually accepted a connection with them.

2. How we respond to reports

Every report is reviewed by our moderation team. Depending on what we find, we can remove content, issue a warning, or suspend the reported account — and where a report involves the reported member, we can suspend them directly as part of that review. We don't disclose who reported whom.

3. Verification badges are a signal, not a guarantee

Our work-email and employment badges confirm specific, limited things — see our Verification Policy for exactly what. They are not a background check, and don't confirm someone's character, marital status, or intentions. Use your own judgment regardless of badges.

4. Recognizing common scam patterns

Be cautious of anyone who, especially early in a connection:

• Asks you for money, a loan, gift cards, or investment in a scheme;
• Refuses a video call or in-person meeting after weeks of messaging;
• Rushes to declare strong feelings or urgent life circumstances (a medical emergency, a stuck shipment, a visa problem) to pressure you into sending money;
• Asks you to move the conversation off Work2Wed immediately, especially to an unfamiliar app;
• Pressures you to share your address, workplace, financial details, or intimate photos before you're comfortable.

If you see any of this, stop responding, do not send money or personal documents, and report the account.

5. Meeting in person

• Video call before meeting in person, if you haven't already;
• Meet the first few times in a public place, and arrange your own transport there and back;
• Tell a friend or family member where you're going, who you're meeting, and when you expect to be back;
• Keep your phone charged and accessible;
• Trust your instincts — you can leave at any time, for any reason.

6. If you're in immediate danger

If you or someone else is in immediate physical danger, contact local emergency services or the national emergency helpline (112 in India) first. Work2Wed's reporting tools are for platform moderation, not emergency response.
